Year of the Monkey 2016 and Feng Shui for

2016 FIRE MONKEY YEAR
This is the year of the red Fire Monkey, which began on February 8, 2016.

Fire monkeys are red in color and red means go! Fire brings passion, creativity, and joy. Fire types are strong, dynamic, and can overcome illness and obstacles. Just be aware to not jump ahead of yourself this year, especially during the heat of summer.

The year of the Monkey is ideal for significant growth in your life! Now is the time to shake things up, create change, and be innovative with new paths. Even the most ambitious plans can succeed.

There are many different characteristics and traits that come to mind when we think about monkeys. Monkeys are full of curiosity, adventure and often mischief and perceived as being cute, as well as highly intelligent animals that have developed adaptable abilities.

On the other hand, they can be irritable, impetuous, easily frustrated or bored, and as such, can cause mischief, havoc, and can create unexpected problems.

There’s more than enough action, activities and opportunities to keep you busy.  Be flexible, be aware, and understand that anything can happen – but it’s up to you how you navigate well through this year.

Just be aware of your surroundings and be careful who you trust, and for harmony in the home and workplace, consider the elements that are surrounding you.

Like anything in life, too much red, too much fire, can be overwhelming, destructive and can ‘burn you out’.

Basic Feng Shui practices of having all the elements represented where you live and work are important for vital, healthy, Chi energy. However, this year, you may need to move some things around (literally), or even add more water elements to your home and office. The key to balance this year is having these extra water elements in the right place, and in the right amount.

To start, Feng Shui 4Today lead consultant, Janet Sandquist,  is advising her clients to add more water elements by their front doors this year.  Depending on the other ‘activities’ that are occurring in your life and business, she can do a custom consultation for you and outline a specific plan to create that balance to reduce the ‘mischief’ and increase the positive opportunities.

The elements for the Year of the Monkey are Metal and Water. Metal is connected to gold. Water is connected to wisdom and danger. Therefore, we will deal with more financial events in the year of the Monkey. The Monkey is a smart, clever, and attentive animal. If you want to have good return for your money investments, then you need to outsmart the Monkey.

Metal is also connected to Wind. That implies the status of events will be changing very quickly. Think twice before you leap when making changes for your finance, career, business relationship and love relationships.

2016, like any other year, will not be the same for everyone. Just look at your friends and family. Some had a great 2015, while it may have been awful for others.

For the optimal approach at creating balance (the goal of Feng Shui), a personal consultation is best.  Janet will talk with you, gather extra information about you, your work or home location, and even take into consideration all the people you live and work with, to come up with a very specific outline for ways to enjoy the benefits of the Year of the Fire Monkey, while reducing the negative attributes that can show up along the way.
